Job Overview - This position has responsibilities for the No-Till Farmer property, including developing, writing, editing and production of print and online content. The Managing Editor will collaborate with our editorial staff for the identification and development of short- and long-form feature articles, along with additional editorial projects such as special reports. Position requires regular writing assignments, editing articles, copy editing and proofing of various written materials for ag publications, as well as tracking progress of editorial content from issue to issue and leading production efforts for each print issue. Position also requires posting content online, social media engagement, supporting photography, video recording and willingness to travel.

Job Responsibilities - Initiate, plan, develop and manage the execution of top-quality editorial content that supports the objectives and goals of No-Till Farmer newsletter and Conservation Tillage Guide magazine. Thought leader who constantly seeks out industry trends and information. Must have an appreciation for agriculture and be able to gather and analyze available information. Ability to dig deep into farmers’ cropping operations to tell a story on their best practices, including successes and failures, and how that information will benefit the reader, rather than just reporting on facts.

This position requires a flexible, adaptable attitude, with the ability to learn, understand and simplify technical, business and specific farming information for niche audiences.

Requirements - College degree in journalism or related field. Strong understanding of professional publishing business, developed through at least several years of experience in the industry. Agricultural background, particularly crop production practices, is a plus. Stellar grammar and spelling skills. Strong writer. Experienced with social networking, digital media and its importance in today’s media. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required, both written and oral. Fast learner, meticulous, independent and self-directed. Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask and make sound decisions under pressure. Travel required for on-farm visits and various agricultural shows or industry meetings.

Sales Manager

Midwest based FEMA member who produces components for the Ag industry, is looking for someone with strong, proven interpersonal skills, organizational ability, drive to succeed and mechanical aptitude to manage sales and customer relations to Shortliners, Larger OEMs, and aftermarket customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage a team of three employees

  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team

  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base

A manufacturer of agricultural pumps and equipment based in Alabama is searching for an Engineering Manager to lead its engineering team. The position encompasses a wide range of engineering disciplines including: leading the team in product design, product support, manufacturing support, as well as providing positive interactions with Customers, all Employees and our Board of Directors/Owners. 


Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager:

Product Design

Candidate will lead the R&D of new product development and existing product improvement.

Strong knowledge of CAD software is a must.  Pro/Engineer knowledge is preferred.

Product design and development tasks will be from product inception to completion/production.  Responsibilities will include new idea generation, prototype development, tooling specifications, final design release, and writing of manuals for the end user.

Product/Mfg Support

Product support will be both in product design and technical sales support.

Initiate design changes to improve quality and performance of products.

Provide cost cutting initiatives in the design and manufacturing processes.

Customer/Owner Interaction

Candidate will have interaction with end-users, distributors and OEM’s in person at trade shows, and by customer visits, as well as by phone.

Individual must utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Must be able to develop and give presentations to owners/board members

Required Qualifications of the Engineering Manager

A  B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

Prefer 8-10 years of Design Experience in a Mfg. environment with proven progression in design ability.

Agriculture background or experience would be a plus, but not required.

Candidate must be able to multi-task and be self-motivated.

Regional Sales and Key Account Manager

 
A member company that manufactures conservation tillage and precision nutrient management equipment is seeking a Sales Professional to manage regional sales and support in the West Nebraska/Colorado region.
The RSM/KAM will work with and report to the V.P. of Sales and Marketing and work closely with the Marketing Director, Precision Ag Account Manager, and the Service Manager. The position is located remotely in the assigned territory and requires regular travel within the region and occasional travel to company/trade/association events as well as company headquarters.
 
Responsibilities
Build and maintain business relationships with prospective and current customers and dealers
Identify prospects through a variety of methods including networking, national/regional/local marketing efforts, referrals, online leads, field events, trade shows, local sales initiatives
Collect and manage prospect/customer data and sales pipeline data through a CRM system
Manage and complete direct customer support including tier one in-field service/support
Demonstrate company system in-field with a demonstrator system or full-size piece of equipment
Manage direct sales process with customers, and responsible for closing sales in direct-sales portion of territory
Manage and support a multi-location dealer within territory
Conducts sales training and field training with dealers/employees
Lead regional events/collaborations such as field days, trade shows, University collaborations
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other assignments as needed
 
Desired Qualifications
Experience working directly with ag customers, direct sales preferred
Experience working with equipment dealers/resellers
Knowledge of soil fertility/fertilizer, tillage methods, and precision agriculture
Strong ag knowledge/background, good mechanical aptitude and knowledge
Ability to troubleshoot and support equipment repairs in-field (limited tier one support - prior to escalation to service team)
Strong precision ag background including multiple brands
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment. Work schedule based on farmer/customer/dealer schedules during peak spring and fall seasons.
Experience with Microsoft software including Outlook email, Excel, MS Dynamics CRM
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture-related field preferred
